Spaghetti Sauce
-
1 large can tomato sauce
-
1 large can diced tomatoes (with green chili peppers for a little spice)
-
1 small can tomato paste
-
1 sweet onion, diced
-
1 Tbsp oregano
-
1 Tbsp basil
-
1 Tbsp parsley
-
1/4 tsp salt
-
4 tsp minced garlic
-
1/4 cup vegetable oil
-
1 1/2 lbs ground beef (90% lean)

In a tall stock pot, add the vegetable oil and ground beef. Brown the beef over low / medium heat (about level 2 on a gas stove). Break the beef up, and stir every 30 seconds. There will be no pink left when the beef is done.

Add onions, cook until translucent, about 10 minutes.

Add all remaining ingredients, along with 2 large cans of water (use the cans from the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes). Bring to a boil, reduce temperature to low (about level 2 on a gas stove), and let simmer 2-4 hours, until desired consistency is reached.

Serves 4-6 people.
