This is a Sudoku Puzzle.  When you click the 'Start Game' button a sudoku puzzle will be generated.  In a sudoku puzzle, each column, row, and block contains all of the numbers 1 through 9, exactly once.  A block is a 3x3 square, and there are 9 blocks.  E.g., the first block consists of all the squares in rows 1-3 AND columns 1-3, the second block consists of all of the squares in rows 1-3 AND columns 4-6, etc.

 

By default there are 36 values provided as clues, but you can change this by filling in a different value for 'Number of Clues' (valid values are 17-80).
